Poetry

Here's a little something I wrote. I see a lot of things in my line of work and it's cause for reflection. I have so much I want to say, so much passion I want to express. I want to motivate and inspire. Here's my attempt. I hope you like it.

Live
Breath
Love
Succeed
Crash and Burn

Women
Wine
Fucking
Song and Dance

Sweat
Work
Build
Destroy
Family gives me life

Chop
Ride
Speed
I live to crack the throttle

Love it all
Scream for more
Fill my cup and overflow
I can never get enough

Aged
Old
Wrinkled
Hands creased and worn

Grinning
Laughing
Crying
Death comes knocking
I could never have enough
I loved it all

I wanted it all
I wanted more
Time is fleeting
Till I die give me
More
More
More

To the fallen and those left behind

Days pass and the anniversaries of the fallen come and go. To all those we have loved and lost I dedicate this to you. May you have found peace.

Parting Glass by the Clancy Brothers

Of all the money that e'er I spent
I've spent it in good company
And all the harm that ever I did
Alas it was to none but me
And all I've done for want of wit
To memory now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all

If I had money enough to spend
And leisure to sit awhile
There is a fair maid in the town
That sorely has my heart beguiled
Her rosy cheeks and ruby lips
I own she has my heart enthralled
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all

Oh, all the comrades that e'er I had
They're sorry for my going away
And all the sweethearts that e'er I had
They'd wish me one more day to stay
But since it falls unto my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be with you all

Riding New Orleans

Living in south Louisiana is really great. I live on the other side of the lake from New Orleans but often travel into the city since that's where a great number of my friends are and, well, that's where the action is. Riding in New Orleans is really an awesome experience. The city is filled with so many great neighborhoods it's unreal. I love riding in the Quarter, Marigny, and Uptown to name a few. We have a museum, the Zoo, City Park, countless graveyards and more festivals, parades and parties than you can count.
The city is filled with such a rich history that everywhere you go you can learn something, see something new or experience something completely different. I cannot begin to describe how great it is to ride through the city, taking in all that it has to offer. I have a friend from Toronto I have been hanging out with and we will pick a eatery we haven't been to and then ride and find it. It's a great way to see the city and experience new places. So if you are in the mood for something great, come to NOLA. It will not disappoint.
